Laparoscopic intervention is a minimally invasive procedure done by using a laparoscope (a thin, long tube, with a camera at one end). The surgeon makes, several small incisions are made on the abdomen to insert the laparoscope inside the abdominal organ. As the laparoscope moves inside, the camera transmits real time images on the monitor. For a better visualization, carbon monoxide gas is passed inside the abdominal area.
Laparoscopic intervention is a great option to evaluate problems associated with the abdomen or a women’s reproductive system.
Advantages:
- Lower risk of bleeding
